Solar Eclipse August 21, 2017

We are looking forward to observing the upcoming solar eclipse on our first day of school. Every school is planning educational activities for students to maximize the learning opportunities of this historic event. Click the link below to see a simulation of the eclipse in Livermore.

Thanks to generous STEM donation funds from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and other community partners, our District has purchased NASA-approved solar eclipse glasses for all students and staff.  Please know safety is our highest priority.  All staff and students will have safety guidelines to follow and outdoor viewing will be supervised by school staff. Please reinforce with your student the importance of following all safety guidelines, which are also available by clicking the link below.  2017 Solar Eclipse Safely sheet

Some schools will be adjusting their break and recess schedules. In the event that families do not want their student to participate in our district-wide viewing, each site has developed opt-out procedures.  Expect specific details and guidelines from your school site principal this week.
