Growth Mindset Discussion on February 15

All LVJUSD community members are invited to learn more about growth mindset during the LVJUSD Reading and Discussion Group on February 15th at the Civic Center Library. Two sessions will be offered: 10:00 - 11:30 am, and again at 7:00 - 8:30 pm.

We will be discussing the book, Mindset, by Carol Dweck, Professor of Psychology at Stanford University. We will discuss how having a growth mindset enables us to stick with challenging situations, instead of choosing to give up. We will also discuss the powerful role of praise in guiding growth mindset, especially in children.

Even if you don’t have time to read the book, you are still encouraged to participate. Check out this Tedx Talk for an overview. (Carol Dweck Tedx Talk: “The Power of Believing That You Can Improve.”)
