LIVERMORE HIGH BAND RAISING FUNDS FOR NEW UNIFORMS
The LHS Cowboy band is actively trying to raise $25,000 to replace their 17 year old uniforms which are worn, falling apart and can no longer be repaired. A number of local businesses have joined the cause and have donation jars for the new uniform fund. Read more in the Patch.
HOUR OF CODE WEEK DECEMBER 9-15
The Hour of Code is a celebration geared to encourage interest in the field of Computer Science and show students that anyone can learn the basics. Granada and Livermore High Schools will be participating in the event organized by Code.org. Learn more
TRUSTEE ANNE WHITE NAMED TO CSBA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Long time Livermore School District trustee Anne White has been named to the Board of Directors of the California School Boards Association (CSBA). The CSBA is the professional organization of the more than five thousand trustees of local California school districts and county boards of education. Press Release
SEEKING APPLICANTS FOR PERRY OUTREACH PROGRAM
The Perry Outreach Program is a free one-day, hands-on experience for high school and college-aged women interested in pursuing careers in medicine and engineering. Upcoming program on February 1 at UC San Francisco. Applications due Jan 3.
FREE RIDE DURING WHEELS HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE
From December 9 -16 Wheels is offering free rides when you donate any amount of non-perishable canned food item onboard any one of the Wheels buses. All proceeds benefit the local Tri-Valley Food Pantry and Open Heart Kitchen. News Release
SAFE AND SOBER GRAD NIGHT FUNDRAISER FEBRUARY 22
